People complained about getting BKM last year, yet this year’s BKM application was denied.

Many persons who previously received the BKM are unhappy that their application was turned down this year.

Since March 28, the first wave of the BKM has been distributed, with eligible people receiving BKMs ranging from RM100 to RM300. People can also check their eligibility for BKM over the internet.

According to netizen feedback, he acquired BKM from the government last year, but his application was suddenly rejected this year, and he was unable to obtain BKM. Netizens argued that the current administration has imposed too many criteria, making it impossible for them to obtain BKM.

Netizens pointed out that he was able to receive the BKM when Tan Sri Muhyiddin was Prime Minister, but not now that Datuk Seri Ismail is Prime Minister. As a result, the netizen speculated that a choice would be taken during the general election.

According to information released by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul on March 19, the LHDN must vette and screen a total of 12 million BKM candidates. According to data given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri on March 20, a total of 8.6 million persons, comprising 4 million households and 1.2 million single or unmarried seniors, are eligible for BKM. There are 3.4 million singles in the country.

This implies that 3.4 million candidates were turned down, and those who were turned down can file an appeal starting May 2.
