Penang state government will disburse RM200 to eligible elderly and disabled persons through the i-Sejahtera assistance scheme from January 25, 2022.
i-Sejahtera is an assistance scheme launched by the Penang State Government. The scheme aims to help the elderly, single mothers, housewives, the physically challenged and those with young children to ease their burden. Beneficiaries will receive a grant of RM100 to RM200.
As of January 19, 2022 there are 205,477 people eligible for elderly aid and 12,391 people eligible for disability aid. The payments will be made in the form of bank transfers, which are intended to avoid close contact. The public is urged to update their bank account information.
If eligible people do not update their bank accounts by June 30, 2022, their payments will be cancelled for those who missed out in 202
