The Penang Chief Minister, Mr. Chow Kon Yeow, presented the Penang Budget 2022 on 26th November. In this budget, it was announced that the i-Sejahtera assistance program will be continued.
i-Sejahtera is an assistance program launched by the Penang State Government. This program is aimed at helping the elderly, single mothers, housewives, the physically challenged and those with young children to reduce their burden of living. The beneficiaries will receive a grant of RM100 to RM200.
If you are not yet a registered i-Sejahtera recipient, you can visit https://isejahtera.penang.gov.my/index.php to register your account and submit the required documents to apply. The assistance will be distributed in 2 ways, namely cash and electronic transfer.
If you are already a beneficiary of i-Sejahtera, you do not need to apply again and you will automatically receive an annual payment.
1. The Elderly
Amount of assistance: RM150
Conditions
a. Aged 60 years or above
b. Must be registered as a voter in Penang
2. Single Mothers
Amount of assistance: RM100
Conditions
a. Malaysian citizen
b. Already registered as a voter in Penang
c. Divorced or husband has passed away and not remarried
d. Age not more than 60 years old
e. Need to bear at least 1 child
3. Golden Mother
Amount of assistance: RM100
Conditions
a. Malaysian citizen
b. Already registered as a voter in Penang
c. Housewife who has no income and is working full time
d. Married women aged 60 or below
4. Physically challenged person
Amount of assistance: RM150
Conditions
a. Malaysian citizen
b. Already registered as a voter in Penang
c. Registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) for the physically challenged (OKU)
5. Golden Child
Amount of assistance: RM200
Conditions
a. Malaysian citizen
b. Currently not more than 2 years old
c. Parents are registered as voters in Penang
