A suspected drug dealer attempted to flee arrest on Sunday, January 21, but fell to his death at a condominium here.

The individual fell from the 16th floor of a condominium during a raid by the state Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department at approximately 6 p.m., according to George Town OCPD Assistant Chief Razlam Ab Hamid.

Following a report from the public on possible drug trafficking activity at the condominium, police carried out a raid. The suspect stated that he was taken aback upon realising that the police were the ones who had knocked on the condominium unit’s door during the raid.

After breaking through the door, two more Nigerian nationals were discovered inside, according to ACP Razlam, who also stated that the Nigerian suspect then went back into the unit and locked the grilles.

He further mentioned that one of the suspects attempted to escape, but the cops caught him on the eighth story of the building.

Then, according to ACP Razlam, a check of the condominium revealed that the first suspect who had unlocked the door was found dead on the ground floor.

He continued by saying that during the raid, several drugs, including ecstacy and syabu, were discovered, and that the foreign people had rented the flat.

According to Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act of 1952, the case is being looked into, he said, adding that “we are still investigating their immigration status”.
