Pakistan officially announced the ban on TikTok!

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) issued an announcement on October 9, Pakistan announced the ban on TikTok application, the reason is that it has received “a large number of complaints about TikTok’s unethical and indecent content” from various sectors of society.

The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority has repeatedly requested TikTok to establish an effective mechanism to control illegal “immoral content”, followed the instructions of the authorities, but the request was “not fully complied with”, The Pakistani authorities therefore decided to ban TikTok in the country.

Although Pakistan announced the ban on TikTok, the department stated that they informed TikTok that Pakistani regulators are willing to cooperate. If TikTok is able to establish a management mechanism that satisfies the authorities, they will revisit this decision.

According to media reports, in fact, long before Pakistan announced the ban on TikTok, according to the press announcement of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi on July 23, in July, Pakistan issued a rectification order to TikTok regarding “immoral and indecent content”, and TikTok responded only one day later.

Not only TikTok, but Pakistan also recently banned many international social applications including Tinder and SayHi on the grounds of “immoral” illegal content.
