Owning multiple cars under your name will result in the rejection of your BKM application

28/03/2022

The first phase of BKM will commence on 28th March and eligible applicants will receive between RM100 and RM300 this March, while those who do not have a bank account can go to BSN to receive the money in cash.

Apart from checking their bank accounts to see if they have received the government assistance, people can also visit BKM website to see if their application has been approved. If the system shows Lulus, the application is successful, while Tidak Lulus means the application has been rejected.

For those whose applications are rejected, the system will directly show the reasons for rejection, such as ineligible income, incomplete information, etc. One of the reasons for rejection is that the applicant owns a vehicle in his or her name that is more than the B40 low income group can afford.

If you have multiple vehicles under your name or your spouse’s name, this will result in your BKM application being rejected. Although government does not clearly state what consider multiple vehicles, two vehicles for a couple should be considered reasonable for a B40 low income family. If a family owns more than three cars, then this does not qualify as a B40 low income.

In any case, people whose applications have been rejected can still appeal from 2nd May.
