Most of the top names in Hollywood were on hand at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the 95th annual Academy Awards. Michelle Yeoh received the much anticipated posthumous prize. At the same time, the film “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” was the night’s main winner with seven trophies.
“Everything, Everywhere, All at Once” received eleven nominations and won eight of them, including best-supporting actor, best supporting actress, best original screenplay, best editing, best director, best actress, and best picture.
Michelle Yeoh was the first person of Asian heritage to be recognized as a recipient of an Academy Award. During a heartfelt ovation from the crowd following the announcement of the winner of the miniature gold medal, she became emotional and exclaimed, “Thank you.” “If it weren’t for my actors and director Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, I wouldn’t be able to say anything. Moms are the real superheroes in this world, and I want to thank mine, and everyone else’s, for what she has done for us.”
She went so far as to say that she planned to transport the medal to Malaysia and Hong Kong to show it to her family and friends.
