On April 15, the government will start the application for free tablets, which will be available to college students from low-income families.

Starting from April 15, students in higher education can apply for a free tablet!

The PerantiSiswa Keluarga Malaysia program for college students will be open for applications starting from April 15, 2022, according to a message sent by Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa. A free tablet will be given to qualified B40 low-income college students.

In Malaysia, an internet device program for college students will accept applications directly through the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s website. College students who have a valid student ID and hail from a B40 low-income family are eligible to apply. Almost 400,000 college students are estimated to profit from the initiative.

After applications open on April 15, a Malaysian college student internet device program will be provided to qualified college students in the second week of June. College students who have had their applications refused are eligible to appeal, and the appeal list will be reviewed by the appropriate authorities.

It’s vital to note that the free tablet issued as part of Malaysia’s Internet Access Device Program for college students cannot be resold, transferred, or lost, and it will remain as the government’s property. After graduation, college students must return the tablet to the school.

Annuar Musa pointed out that the free tablet is of good quality, has a guarantee period, and can be exchanged for a new tablet if it is broken.
