The North-South Boulevard Company has released a schedule for the Lunar New Year, encouraging people to follow the schedule to avoid traffic congestion.

According to an announcement issued by North South Boulevard, the daily traffic volume on North South Boulevard will increase from 1.4 million to 1.6 million vehicles between January 28 and February 6. The North-South Road Company has compiled the best departure schedules for each area to follow to avoid the congestion.

If you are traveling from the Klang Valley to the North and South Malaysia areas, then you can leave before 10am. Those traveling from the Klang Valley to nearby states are urged to depart after 1:00 p.m. Those returning to the Klang Valley from the North and South Malaysia areas are urged to leave before 9am.

It is important that people follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for epidemic prevention at the toll plazas.

According to a message from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the traffic volume on the road will increase around the festive season and the police will be using mobile car radar and automatic license plate recognition system to stop illegal vehicles on the road.

The so-called mobile car radar is a device that can identify whether a vehicle is speeding or not, and the radar will be mounted on the car. As for the automatic license plate recognition system, which was launched last year, the police can scan the vehicles on the road through the iCOPS intelligent camera. iCOPS can scan the license plate number from 100 meters away.
