Noodles, kueh tiao, cookies and bread will not rule out another price hike!
According to the Malaysian Bread, Biscuits, Confectionery, Noodles and Kuey Teow Association, flour and wheat products have increased by 20% to 30% this year, and another price increase is not ruled out in the near future.
The global outbreak of serious inflation, not only flour to face the problem of price increases, other raw materials such as wheat starch, dry corn starch, sago, etc. are increasing in price. Merchants have no choice but to raise the price of their products in the face of high costs.
The price of cooking oil has also been increasing and now the price of a 5kg pack of mixed cooking oil is close to RM50. Cooking oil has skyrocketed from about RM3,000 per tonne to about RM8,000 per tonne today, equivalent to an increase of about RM5 per kilogram.
With the price increase of noodles and kuey teow, I believe that soon the cooked food in the back stalls and coffee shops will also follow the price increase, the burden of life of the people in the city is even heavier.
