No need to buy new uniform first! But what to wear to school?Primary and secondary school students can wear casual clothes to class until the end of the year!

Education Minister Razgiddin said that schools should not make it compulsory for students to wear school uniforms to class. The Ministry of Education had already published guidelines for schools to resume classes a few months ago, which mentioned that the Ministry would allow students to wear casual clothes to class until the end of the year. Students should only be required to wear neat and appropriate clothing.

This measure is intended to ease the burden on low-income groups. The Ministry of Education has received many complaints from parents whose incomes have been affected by the fact that their children’s school uniforms no longer fit after months of movement control orders. As a result, the Ministry of Education decided to allow students to wear casual clothes to class.

Schools in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Malacca returned to school in phases from 1 November and 8 November onwards. Schools in Johor and Terengganu also returned to school in phases from 8 November and 14 November. Schools in Labuan and Negeri Sembilan have already started to return to school.

In addition, the Ministry of Education has decided to allow students in examination classes in schools with more than 90% vaccination coverage to return to school without shift basis.
