The Nintendo Switch’s new generation has been the subject of countless rumors, and the company has yet to issue any official statements regarding the future console’s development.
In a conference call following Nintendo’s most recent financial report, the company’s current president, Shuntaro Furukawa, reportedly brought up the upcoming system for the first time.
“We have been developing new hardware”,
but Furukawa indicated there were no specifics at this time that could be disclosed.
This remark makes it evident that Nintendo has acknowledged the need to create a new system, as does Furukawa’s earlier admission that the Switch, which has been on the market for seven years, finds it challenging to sustain its prior growth trajectory.
Furukawa did add, however, that there are no plans for new hardware or hardware enhancements in Nintendo’s fiscal year 2023 during the conference call.
There won’t be any formal announcements about the Nintendo Switch or any other next-generation system from Nintendo, at least not until April 2024.
However, as Nintendo continues to study and create the new platform, the veracity of such rumors may also increase.
