Next Monday is a public holiday! Traffic queues will return to the country’s thoroughfares and attractions!
July 10 is the Hari Raya Haji festival for fellow Muslims. Since Hari Raya Haji falls on a Sunday on July 10, Monday, July 11 is listed as a make-up holiday. Most states in the country are entitled to the holiday on July 11, except for Johor. This is because Sunday is not a weekly holiday in Johor.
On July 11, all government departments, schools and banks in the country (except Johor) will be closed for the day. If you are planning to visit government offices on this day, you will have to change your schedule.
If you don’t want to be stuck in a traffic jam, you can avoid traveling during this time of the year.
Hajj is a holiday for fellow Muslims. It falls in the last month of the Islamic calendar, the tenth day of the month of Hajj. It is also known as Hari Raya Korban or Hari Raya Aidiladha, which means sacrifice, i.e. the slaughter of animals as a sacrifice to Allah.
If you can’t enjoy the price on July 10 and 11, the next national public holiday is Saturday, July 30, which is the New Year of the Muslim calendar.
