KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has unveiled its latest all-new CR-V sports utility vehicle (SUV) that is more spacious, stylish and features-packed compared with the previous generation.

The sixth-generation CR-V, available in S, E, V, and e:HEV RS variants, offers a choice between a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine or a 2.0L e:HEV hybrid powertrain, with options for all-wheel drive or two-wheel drive. The on-the-road prices for the S, E, and V variants are RM159,900, RM169,900, and RM181,900, respectively. The e:HEV RS variant’s price will be announced closer to delivery, with 750 units of the S variant offered at a special price of RM157,900 to commemorate Honda’s 75th anniversary and 20 years of CR-V production in Malaysia.

Assembled in Honda Malaysia’s Pegoh plant, the new CR-V boasts an elegant design, featuring a new front grille, full LED headlights, rear lights with LED sequential turn signals, and other stylish touches. All variants include eight airbags, second-row sliding seats, cruise control, smart wiper system, remote engine starter, active noise control, two rear USB chargers, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, walk away auto lock, Honda CONNECT telematics system, and Honda SENSING advanced driver assistance system as standard.

The upgraded Honda SENSING system incorporates wide-angle radar, camera, and sonar sensors for improved road hazard detection. The e:HEV RS variant, equipped with a hybrid powertrain, features an active shutter grille for enhanced aerodynamics, a 10.2-inch TFT Meter, Bose Premium Sound System, Head Up Display, Smart Key Card system, and 18-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels.

The 1.5L VTEC turbocharged engine in the S, E, and V variants delivers 193PS and 243Nm of torque. The S variant has 17-inch alloy wheels and fabric upholstery, while the E, V, and e:HEV RS variants feature larger 18-inch alloy wheels and a leather interior. The latter variants also include additional features such as a front USB-C port, a 9-inch Advanced Display Audio, wireless smartphone charger, and wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The new CR-V showcases a spacious interior with 16mm more rear legroom and a large boot capacity of 589 liters, expandable to 1,072 liters. Honda Malaysia aims for monthly sales of 1,000 units, considering the strong market demand and the model’s popularity in the Non-National Mid-Size SUV Segment.
