The Shopee marketplace has enabled value-based shopping with 1.4 million demo units, warehouse clearance items, bundled goods, and pre-owned products sold over the past three years.

Value-based buying is the future, as Generation Z customers look for used, recycled, reused, or display units. Shopee makes it easier for vendors to post pre-owned items online for better deals. Hand sanitisers, skincare, cosmetics, and personal care items were in high demand as households cut back on spending.

Influencers’ content on Shopee Live reflects consumers’ values-based purchasing decisions, leading to increased pre-owned sales and live-streaming content. In addition, Shopee offers a free return and refund function to promote a “want not, waste not” mentality during Ramadan and Raya.
