Good News! Netflix Malaysia announced that starting today (February 21), the price of the Basic Plan will be reduced! According to Netflix Malaysia’s official social media announcement, the price of the Basic Plan has been reduced from RM35 per month to RM28 per month, saving a full RM7!
It is reported that the basic package of Netflix will take effect immediately, and newly registered members can subscribe directly at RM28. In contrast, existing members can choose to upgrade within a few weeks after the start of the next billing cycle. It is worth mentioning that existing Basic Package members will be notified via email. The exact timing will depend on the particular member’s Bill Cycle.
The price of Netflix’s Basic Plan before the price reduction is RM35, which provides HD (720p) picture quality, and users can only watch program content on one device (mobile phone/tablet/computer/TV) at the same time. Previously, the playback quality of the Basic Plan was only 480p, but from November 2022, Netflix will upgrade from the original 480p playback quality to 720p.
Netflix provides a total of 4 different packages. In addition to the Basic Plan, there is a Mobile Plan with a monthly fee of RM17, a Standard Plan with a monthly fee of RM45 and a Premium Plan with a monthly fee of RM55. It is worth mentioning that Netflix is only adjusting the price of the Basic Plan this time, while the other three plans remain unchanged for now.
