According to “Metro Daily”, the incident occurred in Kampung Lubuk Tualang, Kedah Sai district on Sunday.
Zulkhairi Mat Tanjil, assistant fire chief of Sik Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), said that the incident occurred at around 6:45 pm when a woman in her 40s and her friend were in the Perodua Myvi where the incident occurred. Inside, I suddenly smelled a foul smell.
“They got out of the car when the car suddenly burst into flames and the fire spread quickly. Neither of them was injured.”
Zukeri said an eight-man team led by Syahril Salleh spent 10 minutes extinguishing the fire after arriving at the scene.
He said the cause of the car fire and damage were still under investigation and the case had been handed over to the police for further action.
“Car owners are reminded to perform regular maintenance on their vehicles to avoid unnecessary accidents,” he said.
