More than a million Malaysian children have received the Covid-19 vaccine.

As of yesterday, 1,003,227 children aged five to eleven years had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination as part of Malaysia’s National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), accounting for 28.3 percent of the child population in this age range.

According to the CovidNow website, 14,984,241 adults, or 63.7 percent of the country’s population, have received the booster dosage, with 22,927,098 (97.4%) having finished the immunisation and 23,203,753 (98.6%) having received at least one dose.

A total of 2,830,746 teenagers aged 12 to 17 have finished the immunisation, representing 91 percent of their population, while 2,930,978 adolescents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, representing 94.2 percent.

Yesterday, a total of 68,081 vaccine doses were provided, including 29,714 first doses, 903 second doses, and 37,464 booster doses, increasing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 67,672,349.

According to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, a total of 67 deaths due to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, with 14 incidents in Selangor, 12 in Kedah, 10 in Johor, eight in Perak, seven in Sabah, and four each in Melaka and Perlis.

Pahang and Kelantan each reported three cases, while Negri Sembilan and Penang each reported one death.
