Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs has put in place a number of food allowances and a ceiling price policy.

In order to curb inflation in the country, the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs has put in place a number of food allowances and a ceiling price policy. Traders are not allowed to sell TCS products at a price higher than the ceiling price set by the government.

Under the Supply Control Act 1961 and the Supply Control Regulations 1974, 12 commodities were included in the list of TFPs, including sugar, flour, cooking oil, fertiliser, petrol, diesel, ashes, LNG, chicken, etc.

The government also provides allowances for three commodities, namely flour, cooking oil and LNG. four commodities are included in the list of prohibited exports, namely flour, diesel, RON95 petrol and LNG.

Here you will find the retail ceiling prices for sugar, cooking oil and domestic LNG (LNG does not include carriage charges).

1KG bottled cooking oil (pure palm): RM6.70
2KG bottle cooking oil (pure palm): RM12.70

5KG cooking oil (pure palm) in a bottle: RM29.70
10KG Domestic LNG: RM19.00
12KG domestic LNG: RM22.80
