According to Senior Minister of Education Razgiddin, more than 80 per cent of students nationwide have received their first dose of vaccination, and in some states more than 90 per cent. All these students will complete their second dose of the vaccination within the next few weeks.
Ministry of Education plans to allow Form 5 and Form 6 students who have completed the vaccination to return to their regular schools, instead of using a shift basis. Further announcements will be made by the Ministry of Education in the near future.
In early October, a new feature was added to the COVIDNOW website allowing people to check vaccination rates in schools across the country, giving parents more peace of mind when sending their children to school. To check vaccination rates in schools, you can visit https://covidnow.moh.gov.my/school/. You can then select your state and enter the name of the school and click on search. The system will display the vaccination rates for students and teachers.
On this page you can view the vaccination rate for the first dose and the vaccination rate for the second dose. The system will also clearly show the vaccination rates for the year of birth, for example for children born in 2004 and children born in 2005. This way, parents will know the vaccination rate for the grade to which their child belongs.
