Ministry of Education announces that teachers can take off their masks while teaching classes!

28/04/2022

The Ministry of Education has announced a series of new measures.

This is in line with the government’s announcement of an exemption from scanning MySejahtera when entering public places on May 1, according to a message from Education Minister Radzi Md Jidin.

However, students and teachers are still required to wear masks in enclosed areas of the school, except when students or teachers are alone, during sports or physical education classes, and for those with respiratory problems. Teachers may also remove their masks when teaching classes.

Students and staff will be allowed to eat in the school cafeteria starting May 1, and the school will be able to schedule their own breaks to avoid crowding in the cafeteria.

The second semester of school will begin on June 12, and the Ministry of Education has mandated that students wear uniforms to school as of June 12.

Only students with symptoms will need to be tested for coronary artery disease, and if the test is negative, students may continue to wear their masks to class. If the test result is positive, the school will need to contact the parents for follow-up.
