Microsoft will end support for Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023!
According to the information released by Microsoft, Windows 8.1 will no longer receive official technical assistance and software updates from January 10, 2023.
This means that devices running Windows 8.1 will no longer receive technical support, software updates and security updates from Microsoft from January 10, 2023. Although users can still continue to use devices running Windows 8.1, however, their devices may face the risk of viruses and malware.
Microsoft calls on users concerned users to upgrade their systems to the latest version. If the device does not meet the basic requirements for the upgrade, Microsoft recommends that users replace the device with one that supports Windows 11.
Microsoft terminated support for Windows 8 back in 2016, while its revised version 8.1 will only lose support in January 2023.
Windows 8 was released mainly for devices with touch screens, but after a strong backlash from users, Microsoft had to release Windows 8.1, which reintroduced the Start feature.
