Several areas in the country will experience persistent rainfall!

According to the Malaysian Weather Research and Forecasting Model (MET-WRF), European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and Global Forecasting System (GFS) model analysis, breeze will gather over several areas of the country, including the east coast of the peninsula and the western part of Sarawak.

This situation will lead to an increase in humidity in these areas and the possibility of persistent rainfall. The affected dates are November 8 and 9, 2022.

The public is urged to pay attention to the latest news issued by the Meteorological Service. People should also avoid driving on roads with frequent waterlogging to avoid disrupting their journeys. People living in areas where lightning and flooding are common are also urged to keep an eye on the weather warnings issued by the Meteorological Bureau.

Previously, the Meteorological Bureau also issued an announcement that our country will enter the northeast monsoon season from November 7! The country will enter the northeast monsoon season earlier than expected, and it will last until March 2023. During this period, there will be four to six persistent rainstorms.

According to the Meteorological Department, persistent heavy rains will bring flooding to low-lying areas and coastal areas. If the persistent rainstorm and high tide occur at the same time, then it will increase the risk of flooding.

The Bureau of Meteorology has also released the schedule for high tides, which are November 6-11, November 22-27, December 7-12 and December 22-26 in 2022, and January 6-10 and January 21-25 in 2023.
