August 13 coincides with the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, which is a full moon. Astronomers advise people to look for meteor showers before the moon becomes too bright. That’s when there will be a good chance of seeing some meteor showers.
The Perseid meteor shower season is at its peak from July 17 to August 24 each year, and it will be at its peak on August 13, 2022, when about 100 to 140 meteors per hour can be seen streaking across the night sky.
Perseid meteor shower can be quite spectacular as it skims the upper atmosphere. The best time to look for meteors may be on Friday to Sunday evenings.
Note that although the period when it appears most is on August 13, you should be able to see the meteors on the nights before and after, if conditions permit.
