Melaka residents are encouraged to masks on.

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, Melaka residents are encouraged to wear face masks in public and crowded places, according to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.

People, including tourists, should take additional precautions such as physical separation, the use of hand sanitizers, and frequent hand washing. Face masks may become mandatory if the Covid-19 situation worsens.

He stated that the Melaka flag would stand 166 metres above sea level atop the Bukit Beruang Forest Reserve as part of the RM200,000 monument project.

When completed in about two years, the monument will become Melaka’s newest tourist attraction.

Recreational activities such as hiking would be unaffected by the monument construction work, and existing infrastructure such as hiking trails would be upgraded, as would new attractions such as a zip line and a flying fox.
