MCMC has issued 2 fines to telecom companies, totaling RM60,000!

In response to a question in Parliament, the Deputy Minister for Communications and Multimedia stated that the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has opened a file to investigate 20 cases involving the quality of service of telecommunications companies and has issued 2 fines to the telecommunications companies concerned.

The companies that received the MCMC tickets are Celcom, which provided substandard services in Sabah, and unifi Mobile, which provided substandard services in Malacca and Pahang.

MCMC has reviewed 3,000 locations nationwide, which includes locations that had complaints about coverage issues last year. MCMC is processing 1 ticket, which is a RM20,000 ticket.

As of January 25, a total of 1,466 network base stations have been upgraded to the 4G network. There are still many network base stations in the country that have not been successfully upgraded to the 4G network, as the flooding that broke out at the end of last year has delayed the progress of the upgrade project.
