McDonald’s is temporarily suspending large portions of fries!
According to McDonald’s, due to potato shortages and supply chain disruptions, McDonald’s across our country will suspend serving large portions of fries. This measure has come into effect from January 24, 2022.
McDonald’s said customers can still buy medium-sized fries. The suspension of the supply of large fries is a short-term measure. After the supply and transportation of potatoes resume, McDonald’s will also resume the supply of large fries. McDonald’s has yet to announce when it will resume supply.
The move by McDonald’s to suspend large-sized fries is not unique to Malaysia. McDonald’s in Japan was forced to suspend large- and medium-sized fries and hash browns as early as December last year. McDonald’s in Taiwan also suspended serving hash browns last year until late January.
It’s not just McDonald’s food that has been affected by supply chain disruptions, KFC is also in a similar situation. KFC in some domestic states has suspended the provision of vegetable salad (Coleslaw), and KFC in some foreign countries has no chicken sales.
