Johoreans are encouraged to get the 2nd Covid booster.
Even though the number of positive cases in the state is still under control, Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi today urged Johoreans to get their second Covid-19 booster vaccination.
This comes after the state health director, Datuk Dr Aman Rabu, stated that the percentage of those who have received the second booster shot in Johor remains low, at only 1.9 percent.
Although we are becoming accustomed to living in the endemic phase, new variants such as BA.5.2 and B.7 are emerging. Johor is also an international entry point, so residents must remain vigilant.
Let us all pray that Johor and Malaysia are safe from the threat of the pandemic in the future.
Previously, state Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon stated that starting today, vaccination could be obtained by walking in or making appointments at 12 hospitals or 81 vaccination centres (PPV) and health clinics across the state (Jan 9).
On Monday, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa was quoted as saying that only 49.8 percent of Malaysians had received their first booster dose, while only 1.9% had received their second.
