Malaysia’s first Islamic digital bank, AEON Bank, will be launched in the first half of 2024.
AEON Bank has been approved by Bank Negara and the Ministry of Finance and will be officially launched in the first half of this year, according to a news release from AEON Bank.
AEON Bank will open its APP in phases, the first phase will allow AEON Group staff to participate in the testing, and will be opened to the public for registration only after the internal testing is completed.
AEON Bank is an associate company of AEON Credit Service Berhad and a subsidiary of AEON Financial Service Co Ltd.
The National Bank has issued five digital banking licenses in 2022, while GXBank has been in service since last year and Boost Bank will be in service on January 15, 2024, according to the bank.
