Malaysian woman kindly allowed nephew to stay over, but nephew stole ATM card to buy an expensive smart phone!

17/04/2023

The woman, who claimed that her bank account deposit was less than RM8,200, went to the police station on March 25, 2023, according to Sin Chew Daily. Following that, the police started an investigation as well, and on April 14, 2023, they captured a suspect in Kuala Lumpur who was 21 years old. The suspect turned out to be the woman’s nephew!

The woman earlier complained on Facebook that her deposits mysteriously fell and the bank ATM card in her pocket disappeared. With all of this, the woman became confused as to where the money went. Later, she discovered that her nephew had stayed at home and that her money balance had actually increased after her nephew left, leading her to believe that her nephew was completely responsible for the situation.

Later, the woman verified that her nephew was the one who had stolen the money by using the police’s given bank monitor! After her nephew was detained, the woman thanked the police in a Facebook post and said that she had given her nephew 23 days to make amends and return the money. However, the offending party not only refused to apologise but also continued to be extremely delighted by purchasing a new mobile phone.
