People are allowed to gather for a reunion dinner during the Lunar New Year, but only family members and close relatives are allowed, no outsiders can be involved!
In a press conference held on January 19, the Ministry of National Solidarity stated that the government will allow people to return home across the state around Lunar New Year, and they can also go to their relatives’ homes for reunion dinners. The number of people will not be limited, but only family members and close relatives will be allowed to eat together, and outsiders will not be allowed to eat at the same table.
It is important to note that this year, the government still prohibits large open door events, chambers of commerce and individuals are not allowed to open their doors. This is to avoid clusters and outbreaks of infection. People are allowed to pay their respects to friends and relatives for the New Year.
People are allowed to visit temples and pray for blessings from New Year’s Eve to the second day of the New Year, the eighth and ninth days of the Lunar New Year and the Lantern Festival. People can also worship the God of Heaven at their homes.
The government does not announce the opening hours of the temples or the number of worshippers per pilgrimage. It is believed that this is the same as the standard operating procedure implemented now, which is that it is the responsibility of the temple units to ensure that the faithful keep a physical distance. Only those who have completed vaccination are allowed to worship at the temple.
In addition, lion and dragon dances are also permitted, and the relevant authorities must ensure that all attendees have completed their vaccinations.
