Longest full moon of the year! The last full moon of 2021 is coming~

17/12/2021

According to NASA, the full moon will start to appear on the night of December 18 and reach its brightest at 11:37 p.m. The full moon will last until December 19, in other words, the moon will be high in the sky for up to 15 hours and 33 minutes, making it the longest full moon of the year.

It is the smallest full moon of the year also. The moon’s elliptical orbit around the earth is a little flatter than the earth’s elliptical orbit around the sun. So when the moon is near, it looks a little bigger, forming the largest full moon, commonly known as the super moon, but when the moon is far away, it looks a little smaller, forming the smallest full moon.

It is reported that the moon will run to apogee at 10 p.m. on December 18, when it has the smallest apparent diameter, and by December 19, the moon will reach its fullest at 12:36 a.m.
