Long queues of traffic were seen on certain highways this weekend.

As the nine-day Labour Day and Eid holidays come to an end and people start returning from their home cities to their workplaces, long queues of traffic will start to form on the country’s thoroughfares. If you don’t have an emergency to travel across the state, you may choose to extend your trip.

You can also check the traffic conditions of the various roads before you travel and decide which road to use. The Roads Department of Malaysia (LLM) has launched Jalanow.com, a website that allows people to check the latest status of the roads online.

On Jalanow.com, you can check the traffic flow on major roads between Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, North and South Roads, NKVE, ELITE, AKLEH, KLK, LPT, Penang Bridge and Johor Long Beach.

If you see long queues of traffic on the road you are travelling on, you may want to consider delaying your journey or choosing a different road.
