Latest News! MCO 2.0 EXTENDED for another 2 weeks.

The nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO), except for Sarawak, is being extended for another 14 days to February 18th! 

Senior Minister of Defense Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri held a press conference at 3.30pm on February 2nd, to announce that due to the severe domestic epidemic and the high number of cases in every single day, the government decided to extend the MCO to February 18th. This administrative order applies to all states in Malaysia except for Sarawak. 

During this period of time, people are not allowed to travel through states and contries, restaurants are not allowed for dine-in as well. The government will tighten the standard operating procedures (SOP), such as limiting the number of people visiting the supermarkets. The government will also consider reopening barber shops, but only if they comply with a stricter SOP.

As the government announced the MCO is extended, this means that people from different state could not return to their hometown to celebrate Chinese New Year.
