This year’s Labor Day holiday combined with Eid al-Fitr holiday will give people the opportunity to enjoy up to 9 days of vacation!
This year, Labor Day falls on a Sunday, May 1, so you can get an extra day off on May 2. This year, Eid falls on May 3 and 4, so if you take 2 days off, you will have a total of 9 consecutive days off, plus your weekly vacation.
Working people can consider taking an extra day off on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6, plus the weekly vacations on April 30, May 7 and 8, making up to 9 days of vacation, from April 30 to May 8.
If you are in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan or Terengganu, this 9-day holiday may not be suitable for you as the weekly vacations in these 4 states fall on Fridays and Saturdays, and Labor Day on May 1 falls on a Sunday in these states and you will not be able to take the May 2 holiday. However, this is subject to individual employers’ arrangements.
