KWSP did not send an email asking members to verify their i-Akaun accounts within 24 hours!
According to the message sent by the Employees Provident Fund Board (KWSP), if a member receives an email requesting i-Akaun account verification within 24 hours, the member is urged not to click on the link in the email. If members click on the link in the email, their personal data may be stolen.
According to the posting released by the Provident Fund Board, the email message stated that the member’s i-Akaun was temporarily blocked due to multiple invalid login attempts. The email message asked the member to email the link for account verification and if the verification is not done within 24 hours, the member will need to go to the CPF Board counter for processing.
The CPF Board has denied sending this email requesting members to perform i-Akaun account verification. If you have received a similar email, you should not click on the link in the email.
The first thing you should do when you receive an email is to check whether the source of the email is credible. If the email is from a private email, @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, you should be especially careful. Government departments and banks use official emails, @jpn.gov.my, @kwsp.gov.my, @maybank2u.com.my, etc., when sending emails to users.
