According to a Twitter post by Health Secretary Khairy , a press conference will be held at 12:30 p.m. March 9 in the Capitol’s Media Center. Khairy will announce the details of our transition to an endemic epidemic.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail announced in the evening of March 8 that our country will enter the endemic epidemic transition period from April 1 and our country will open its borders from April 1. The government will withdraw all measures to control the flow of people from April 1.
The government will no longer restrict the opening schedules of stores and will no longer restrict cross-state movement of unvaccinated people. MySejahtera scanning will be exempted in open and uncrowded outdoor areas.
The Prime Minister has also announced that the national border will be open for quarantine free entry from April 1, 2022, although RT-PCR testing will be required 2 days prior to departure and RTK-Ag testing will be required within 24 hours of entry under the supervision of a health care professional. Entrants must complete 2 doses of vaccination.
