It’s the fault of Jay Chou’s concert? Soccer match sold 21,000 less tickets, Malaysian soccer fans scolded Jay Chou!

The concert, which was postponed for three years because of the epidemic, has made many Jay Chou fans look forward to the concert! But Jay’s concert clashed with the Southeast Asian Football Championship (AFF Cup 2022; East Championship), causing the organizers to sell more than 20,000 tickets less, making many Malaysian soccer fans very angry and flocked to Jay’s IG post to scold!

According to Bernama and New Straits Times, the semi-final match between the Malaysian national team and the Thai national team will be held at Bukit Jalil Nasional Stadium this weekend, January 7 (Saturday). The stadium, which was supposed to hold 87,411 people, was officially ticketed and the organizers found that only 59,000 tickets were sold and the 21,000-seat D section was closed.

The report said that the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Secretary General Noor Azman Rahman said, “As the Bukit Jalil Nasional Stadium is building a large stage for Jay Chou’s concert to be held on the 15th the 21,000 seats will be blocked by the stage structure and will have to be vacated from the area.”

When the organizers of the official ticket sales, many Malaysian soccer fans found that the organizers of the 21,000 tickets sold less, this action also angered Malaysian soccer fans, have flocked to Jay Chou IG post under the message cursing! Many Malaysian soccer fans have written, “cancel your concert, the song is not very good”, “come to Malaysia to do what, people want to see soccer”, “as if (Malaysia) there is no other stadium open singing “, “postpone your concert, that is the national stadium, soccer fans want to see soccer, not a big stage”, “do not come to Malaysia,” “because of you, I can not buy Soccer match tickets”, “The Malaysian soccer team needs the support of 21,000 people”, “Please cancel your concert, the stadium is for soccer matches, not your concert.”

In response, Minister of Youth and Sports Yeo Khiao Siong responded at an event today that she is discussing a solution with Stadium Malaysia (PSM), “I have understood the whole thing and discussed it with PSM, we are still working on the solution.” Also, although only 51,000 tickets could be sold for the semi-final match between the Malaysian national team and the Thai national team, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced at 1pm on January 5 that all tickets had been sold out!

This year’s Southeast Asian Football Championship, the Malaysian national team will face the Thai national team in the semi-final match on the 7th at Bukit Jalil Nasional Stadium. If the Malaysian national team succeeds in beating the Thai national team to reach the final, the Malaysian national team will face the Vietnamese national team or the Indonesian national team on January 16 at the same venue. It is worth mentioning that this second round final is on the second day of Jay Chou’s concert, whether Jay Chou concert organizers can empty the stadium in half a day is also a big problem. And how many tickets will be sold for the second round final is also a matter of concern for Malaysian soccer fans.

The 2022 Southeast Asian Football Championship officially kicks off on December 20. Founded in 1996, the East Championship is the highest level of international tournament in the region’s football biennial, with all ten Southeast Asian countries doing their best to achieve good results. In a sense, the East Championship is the World Cup for Southeast Asian fans.
