Foodpanda has crafted Foodpanda Rewind 2023, a series that allows customers to view their total orders, preferred dishes, cuisines, and preferred groceries through the Foodpanda app.

Also, foodpanda has revealed the most popular national cuisine for 2023, let’s see who it is!

No.1: ROTI CANAI

The much-awaited number one national dish is Roti Canai! I think it deserves it!

Roti Canai is a must for Malaysians, even for takeaways, and is the best choice for both a main meal and a late-night snack!

According to the World’s 100 Best Foods 2023/2024 published by TasteAtlas, the Malaysian pancake was ranked as the second-best food in the world, and the only Malaysian food to make the list.

What’s more, in September, Taste Atlas named it the world’s most delicious bread!

No.2 :(Satay )

The runner-up is Satay!

Satay is an authentic Malaysian barbecue cuisine, based on beef, lamb and chicken, with some fresh onions and cucumber slices, with a square of rice (Ketupat) wrapped in pandan leaves or coconut leaves, dipped in a spicy peanut sauce, it is really good to the teeth! The aroma can be smelled for miles around!

What is your favorite meat for satay? Is it the firm chewiness of beef, the mellow flavor of lamb, or the refreshing tenderness of chicken? Only kids can choose, I’ll take them all!

No.3 :Nasi Goreng Kampung

There are many different kinds of fried rice in Malaysia, each with its own unique flavor and attractive appearance, but the one that stands out from the rest is Nasi Goreng Kampung.

The essence of Nasi Goreng Kampung is the crunchy cabbage and the crispy fish.

Once fried, the aroma of the rice is irresistible, making it the third-most-ordered national dish of 2023!

No.4 : (Roti Telur)

Surprise! Not only Roti Canai is the most-ordered national food in 2023, but Roti Telur also made it to the 4th place!

Roti is indeed Malaysia’s favorite food, and the charm of Roti Telur is unstoppable. Roti Telur is a must-have for those who don’t like eggs, and when you take a bite of it, you can’t get enough of the flavor of the egg the crunchy texture on the outside and the softness on the inside.

No.5 : (Nasi Lemak)

Nasi Lemak is one of Malaysia’s most iconic dishes, and a favorite breakfast for Malaysians. It can be found in every street, and is affordable and filling.

The coconut-flavored rice is accompanied by fried peanuts, egg, jasmine, cucumber slices, and a spoonful of spicy sambal, which seems so simple, but is so delicious that you can’t stop eating it!
