Users of Maybank would need to wait 12 hours to update their mobile numbers in their accounts.
According to “China Daily,” Maybank CEO and President Datuk Khairul Salleh stated that the bank has put safeguards in place to ensure the security of users’ deposits, including a 12-hour waiting period before a user’s changed mobile phone number becomes effective. The mobile phone number won’t go into effect for 12 hours.
Due to this precaution, deposits are not instantly taken following a fraud and consumers have time to report it.
Additionally, Maybank no longer sends emails with links attached, thus no links will be included in emails from Maybank. It should be an email purporting to be a scam group if you receive one claiming to be from Maybank and asking you to click on a link in the email.
Banks must protect depositor accounts, according to Maybank Chief Executive Officer and President Datuk Khairul Salleh, and depositors must be careful not to easily reveal TAC or OTP verification credentials to others. The bank has no recourse if the depositor supplies TAC or OTP voluntarily or fraudulently.
Through the Maybank APP, users of Maybank can see which mobile devices are associated with their accounts. Users can use the Maybank APP, log in, and then select ME from the choices menu. Then, in My Devices, you can see which phones are associated with your account.
Verify the mobile device to which your Maybank account is connected.
Step 1: Open and log in Maybank APP.
Step 2: Click on the three lines option feature in the upper left corner.
Step 3: Click ME.
Step 4: Select My Devices.
Step 5: The system will display the mobile phone bound to your account.
Step 6: You can click Delete if you found a suspicious phone.
