Is it worth it to sign up for a cell phone with a telecom company?
Many people can’t afford to pay the full amount for a new phone in one go, so they choose to sign up with a telecom company to buy a phone. Here’s the conclusion.
If you have already signed up for an Internet package, it is worth it to continue to sign up for an Internet package for the same price. If you choose to upgrade your Internet package in order to buy a new phone, then it’s not worth it.
For example, if you normally use the monthly subscription of RM50, but now you choose to upgrade to the monthly subscription of RM128 in order to buy a new phone, it is not a wise move.
However, there is a special case to consider, that is, if the RM50 plan only provides 30GB of internet data, which is not enough for you and you are planning to upgrade to the RM128 plan to enjoy unlimited internet data. In this case, it would be worth it for you to sign up for the phone.
