Apple has released the latest iPhone 14 series, starting at 128GB, continuing its strategy of “increase in volume, not price”, but the cost of repairing iPhone 14 has unexpectedly gone up! The iPhone 14 series’ out-of-warranty battery repair price is $99 (about RM446) for all four models, which follows the iPhone X’s $69 (about RM311) increase, and is another price hike for new iPhone repairs. Compared to the iPhone 13 series, the out-of-warranty battery repair price for the iPhone 14 series is up 44%!
Apple officially provides out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacement service, but requires a service fee. It is reported that the current iPhone battery out-of-warranty repair service price is divided into three classes.
iPhone 14 / Pro Series: $99 (approx. RM446)
iPhone X to iPhone 13 / Pro series: $69 (about RM311)
iPhone SE series and iPhone 6/7/8 series: $49 (approx. RM221)
In addition, from Apple’s official website in China, we can find that even the out-of-warranty battery repair price for Apple Watch watches has gone up, from 611 yuan to 648 yuan (about RM421), a price increase of 37 yuan. As for the newly released Apple Watch Ultra, the repair price has reached $748 (about RM486), or in the same words, everything has gone up, but not the salary.
Because of the “Batterygate” incident, Apple’s website has launched a battery replacement service for the iPhone 6 and later models, starting at $214 (about RM139). It’s worth mentioning that Apple also updated the AppleCare + Extra Warranty after the iPhone 14 series was released to include an “unlimited repairs” option instead of twice a year.
The battery capacity of the iPhone 14 series has also appeared in the regulatory database, with Apple removing the mini model and bringing the entire lineup to over 3000mAh, ranging from 3279mAh to 4323 mAh, with the Plus model lasting the longest.
