Installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) system at your home will be eligible for RM4,000 rebate from the government.
The People’s Solar Photovoltaic Scheme (SolaRIS) is a government program that encourages people to install solar photovoltaic systems in their homes. Participating homeowners will be entitled to a rebate of RM1,000 per kWac, up to a maximum of RM4,000 per homeowner.
Attention! This program is limited to Malaysian citizens only and must be a first time TNB customer to participate in this program. Interested parties can apply from April 1 to December 31, 2024 to the Malaysian Sustainable Energy Development Agency (SEDA).
The program is conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and successful applicants must complete the installation of their solar PV systems by March 31, 2025, or until the allocation of the relevant rebate quota is completed, whichever comes first.
Interested parties can contact their solar PV system supplier, and can visit here to see which suppliers are currently registered under the SolaRIS program. The suppliers will help people to apply for the SolaRIS RM4,000 rebate.
How to apply for the People’s Solar PV Program (SolaRIS)
Step:1: People decide that they want to install solar PV system.
Step:2: Interested citizens can contact the Registered Photovoltaic System Provider (RPVSP).
Step 3: The supplier will install the solar PV system for the people.
Step 4: People sign the NEM Contract and the TNB meter will be replaced.
Step 5: People will receive an email from TNB confirming their participation in the NEM Rakyat program.
Step 6: Citizen will receive an email from TNB regarding the SolaRIS application within 14 working days.
Step 7: People will be required to fill in their personal details.
Step 8: After submitting the SolaRIS application form, the person will receive an email about the cash rebate.
Step 9: After the cash rebate is credited to their bank account, they will receive another confirmation email.
