There may be a 12-hour cooling-off period when logging in the TNG eWallet account in a new device.

According to Touch ‘n Go eWallet, the e-wallet platform will implement Bank Negara’s five measures for safe finance, one of which is requiring a cooling-off period when logging in to an account with a new device.

The so-called cooling-off period is when user logged in a TNG account on a new device, the user needs to wait at least 12 hours before they can starts using the Touch ‘n Go eWallet service on the new device.

The primary objective of this measure is to reduce the risk of user account theft while also giving users enough time to take action if they discover an unknown login in their account.

Furthermore, Touch ‘n Go eWallet will tighten control measures for unknown transactions and implement measures for a single account on a single device. These new measures are expected to go into effect in the first quarter of 2023.
