Over 500,000 children have been fully vaccinated.
As of yesterday, 532,317 children aged five to eleven years had completed the immunisation under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), accounting for 15% of the population.
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 1,435,586 children in the same age range have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 40.4 percent.
A total of 2,879,410 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have finished the immunisation, accounting for 92.5 percent of their population in the country, while 2,980,286 adolescents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
In the adult population, 15,991,811 people (or 68%) have received the booster dose, 22,962,624 people (or 97.6%) have completed the second dosage, and 23,239,599 people (or 98.8%) have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 60,923 vaccine doses were provided yesterday, with 11,308 being the first dose, 44,100 being the second dose, and 5,515 being the booster dosage, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 69,808,665.
Meanwhile, a total of 16 deaths due to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, with four cases recorded in Penang, three deaths each in Kedah and Perak, two cases each in Johor and Selangor, and one death each in Sabah and Kuala Lumpur.
