Around 26% of children are fully vaccinated.
As of yesterday, 929,427 children aged five to eleven years in Malaysia had completed the vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme For Children (PICKids), accounting for 26.2 percent of the country’s population.
According to the CovidNow website, 1,553,175 children have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 43.8 percent of the same population.
A total of 2,897,493 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have finished the immunisation, accounting for 93.1 percent of their population, while 2,994,981 have gotten at least one dose, accounting for 96.2 percent.
In the adult population, 16,043,079 people (68.2%) have had the booster shot, whereas 22,968,088 people (97.6%) have gotten both shots and 23,244,086 people (98.8%) have gotten at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
A total of 26,584 vaccine doses were provided yesterday, with 7,266 being the first dose, 17,896 being the second dose, and 1,422 being the booster dosage, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 70,416,939.
Meanwhile, a total of four deaths related to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, with two cases reported in Selangor and one fatality each in Kedah and Perak.
