In Malaysia, almost 34% of youngsters have gotten their first dose.
As of yesterday, 1,209,694 children aged five to eleven, or 34.1 percent of the country’s child population, had received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 2,840,296 teenagers aged 12 to 17 have completed the Covid-19 vaccination, accounting for 91.3 percent of the population, while 2,939,622 adolescents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 94.5 percent of the population.
A total of 15,393,296 adults, or 65.4 percent of the adult population, have gotten the Covid-19 booster dose, and a total of 22,939,552 adults, or 97.5 percent of the adult population, have been fully vaccinated, with 23,215,558 adults, or 98.7%, having received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 47,773 vaccine doses were provided yesterday, with 12,788 being the initial dose, 1,927 being the second dose, and 33,058 being the booster dosage, bringing the total vaccine doses dispensed under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 68,328,203.
Meanwhile, 105 deaths due to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, with Perak having the most cases (21), followed by Kedah (17), Johor (13), Selangor (12), and Pahang and Kuala Lumpur each having seven cases.
Sabah and Melaka each had five cases, Penang (four), Negri Sembilan, Sarawak, and Terengganu each had three, Kelantan and Perlis each had two, and Putrajaya had one (one).
