Almost 30% of children have gotten their first vaccination in Malaysia.
As of yesterday, 1,078,539 children, or 30.4 percent of the country’s youngsters, had received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).
According to the CovidNow website, 15,157,782 people, or 64.4 percent of the adult population in the country, have gotten the Covid-19 booster shot, with 22,931,610 people (or 97.5 percent) having finished their vaccination and 23,208,205 people (or 98.7%) having received at least one dose.
In the case of teenagers aged 12 to 17, a total of 2,833,876 people (91.1%) have finished their immunisation, while 2,934,067 people (94.3%) have received at least one dose.
A total of 62,983 vaccine doses were given out yesterday, with 18,781 being first doses, 1,817 being second doses, and 42,385 being booster doses, bringing the total vaccine doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 67,935,466.
Meanwhile, 113 deaths related to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, with Selangor having the largest number of fatalities with 22, followed by Sabah (18), Johor (14), Kedah (12), Penang ten, and Pahang nine.
Perak had seven deaths, Negeri Sembilan had six, Terengganu had four, and Kelantan had three, while Melaka, Perlis, Sarawak, and Kuala Lumpur each had two.
