About 15 million adults have received booster shots in Malaysia.

As of yesterday, 15,017,166 individuals, or 63.8 percent of the country’s population, had received the Covid-19 booster dose.

According to the CovidNow website, a total of 22,927,624 adults (or 97.4%) have finished the immunisation, with 23,204,433 adults (or 98.6%) having received at least one dose of the vaccine.

As of yesterday, 1,026,732 children aged five to eleven years had received the first dose of the vaccine as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids), accounting for 28.9% of the population.

In the case of adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2,831,197 people, or 91% of the population, have finished the immunisation, while 2,931,709 people, or 94.2 percent, have received at least one dose.

A total of 57,106 vaccine doses were provided yesterday, with 24,342 being the initial dose, 882 being the second dose, and 31,882 being the booster dosage, bringing the total number of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to 67,731,132.

Meanwhile, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, 55 people died as a result of Covid-19 yesterday, with Kedah having the most incidents (12).

Penang is next with eight cases, followed by Johor (seven), Terengganu (six), Kelantan (five), Perak and Selangor with four cases each, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Perlis with two cases each, and Pahang, Sabah, and Sarawak with one case each.
