Perodua may introduce a new SUV to compete with the Proton X50 in 2023.
Perodua is expected to launch an all-new B-Segment SUV in 2023, with a starting price of RM73,000 expected.
Perodua will produce a B-Segment SUV to compete with the Proton X50, according to Paultan.org automotive network media reports, and has already begun inviting particular organisations to undertake market research to pave the way for this B-Segment SUV.
The Aruz and the Ativa are the two SUVs now available from Perodua. The Aruz belongs to the upper echelon of SUVs, whereas the Ativa belongs to the lower echelon. Perodua is likely working on a new SUV because neither SUV can compete with the Proton X50.
Perodua’s new SUV will be constructed on a DNGA chassis and powered by a 1.5L four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with a maximum horsepower of 106 horsepower and a maximum torque of 137Nm, according to internet sources. D-CVT will continue to be used in the transmission. High-tech safety features are likely to remain standard on the SUV.
The SUV’s entry-level model is expected to start at RM73,000, which is less than the Proton X50’s RM79,000 starting price.
Of course, Perodua has not officially confirmed the aforementioned information, so it is now only speculation.
